Why choose one gemstone rather than another?
That is where Harshil comes into his own, revealing that his sensibility extends far beyond simple expertise.

Curation |
Zambia, the land of waterfalls, incredible wildlife, and raw wilderness, is also an excellent source of fine-quality emeralds. Zambian emeralds are known to have a deep green color that's well saturated throughout the stone. This 3.87-carat "no oil" emerald is a perfect example of a top specimen from the region.
Due to their natural crystal shape, emeralds are commonly cut as rectangular or squarish step cuts known as "emerald-cuts." The unique look of the emerald-cut is created by its large, open table and the step cuts of its pavilion. Emerald-cut emeralds produce a "hall of mirrors" effect with the interplay of light and dark planes. The long lines and dramatic flashes of light give emerald-cut emeralds, such as this one, an elegant appeal.
Our team of gem experts has awarded this emerald's beautiful, vivid green color the "Bottle Green" color award. In addition to the stunning color, this emerald exhibits the kind of transparency and clarity rarely seen in emeralds. Last but not least, the "life" within this stone seems to reflect Zambia's natural wonders of the world!

Treatments: No Treatments (Unheated/Untreated)
Gemologist's Comments on Treatments: As a business policy, we don't stock heated, treated, or enhanced gemstones. However, emeralds invariably come into contact with oil during their life, from mining to cutting/polishing to selling. This is because oil is commonly used as a lubricant for cleaning/storing rough emeralds and facilitating the cutting/polishing process.
Also, due to their natural growth conditions and recovery methods, almost all emeralds contain surface-reaching features. Therefore, the oil may seep into these features even when not intended as a treatment.
For this reason, clarity enhancement - particularly with oil - is a common and widely accepted trade practice for emeralds.
No indications of clarity enhancement with oil are observed in this particular emerald. Non-oiled emeralds, also known as "No Oil" emeralds, are extremely rare and valuable.
