Named after his daughter, the "Royal Araina Collection" is a hand-picked selection of exceptional, noteworthy gemstones by Harshil Zaveri, the founder of StarRuby.in ®.

Why choose one gemstone rather than another?

That is where Harshil comes into his own, revealing that his sensibility extends far beyond simple expertise.

In addition to applying the gemological selection criteria, he seeks out stones that speak to him: those that evoke an idea, bring out an emotion, recall a memory, or tell a story.

Curation
Bask in the glow of this glorious cushion-shaped ruby from Burma (Myanmar), known throughout history as the world's greatest producer of the finest rubies. Its delightful color is completely natural, which is incredibly rare considering most rubies are heat-treated to enhance their hue. This Burmese ruby also has enchanting natural crystal inclusions that accentuate its red and pink tones as light bounces throughout the stone.

— Harshil Zaveri, Founder & CEO

Gemologist's Comments on Clarity:
The features seen in the stone's pavilion are naturally occurring rough, unpolished surface areas. When cutting & polishing rubies, it's a common practice to intentionally keep certain portions of the stone in the natural, rough, unpolished form, particularly in the pavilion/bottom of the stone. This is done to preserve the carat weight and maintain the stone's overall shape/symmetry. Such minor external features are commonly seen in most natural & unheated/untreated rubies, especially ones from Burma. Since they are located in the pavilion, they don't affect the stone's clarity, face-up appearance, or luster.

Fluorescence is the visible light some gemstones emit when exposed to invisible ultraviolet (UV) rays. We've described below the intensity and color of the gemstone's fluorescence under long-wave UV light (LWUV).
