Royal Araina Collection: Gemstones that you "fall in love" with

Named after his daughter, the "Royal Araina Collection" is a hand-picked selection of exceptional, noteworthy gemstones by Harshil Zaveri, the founder of StarRuby.in ®.

Why choose one gemstone rather than another?

That is where Harshil comes into his own, revealing that his sensibility extends far beyond simple expertise.

In addition to applying the gemological selection criteria, he seeks out stones that speak to him: those that evoke an idea, bring out an emotion, recall a memory, or tell a story.

Every gemstone in the "Royal Araina Collection" is a rare, timeless treasure highly sought-after by discerning collectors and gem connoisseurs.

Treasures of the Earth

"Treasures of the Earth" is a collection of noteworthy gemstones hand-picked by our team of gemstone experts. Every gemstone in this collection will captivate you with its intrinsic beauty and spectacular flair.

Curation
"The Wonder Within"

One of the telltale signs of Burmese rubies is their inclusions - internal characteristics or "birthmark" - defined as dense, iridescent mineral needles, arrowheads, and particles.

This Burmese ruby from our collection has a lovely vivid-to-deep pinkish-red color, unenhanced by heat treatment as certified by the Gem Research SwissLab (GRS), with enchanting inclusions that accentuate the red and pink tones as light bounces throughout the stone.

At 10.51 carats, this Burmese ruby also has an exceptionally high weight, considering unheated Burmese rubies that weigh even one carat are incredibly scarce.

— Harshil Zaveri, Founder & CEO

Gemologist's Comments on Clarity:
Due to their natural growth conditions and recovery methods, rubies from Burma (Myanmar) commonly have features such as growth tubes, fingerprint inclusions, rutile silk clouds, and other microscopic inclusions that may affect the transmission of light to a certain extent. For this reason, despite being fully transparent, Burmese rubies may not show luster & scintillation as prominently as rubies from other localities.

Fluorescence
Fluorescence is the visible light some gemstones emit when exposed to invisible ultraviolet (UV) rays. We've described below the intensity and color of the gemstone's fluorescence under long-wave UV light (LWUV).

Intensity:
Strong

Color:
Red

Special Characteristics

Large Size:
The size of this gemstone is large compared to the commonly available sizes in this species/variety, making it rare and highly sought-after.

Velvety Appearance:
This gemstone exhibits an appearance that is classified as "velvety". Such an appearance results from very fine microscopic particles that scatter light, causing the coveted visual effect without negatively affecting the gem's transparency. Gemstones with a velvety appearance have little to no extinction, display a warm glow, and look very pleasing to the eye. Therefore, velvety appearance is considered a highly sought-after trait in gemstones. The most prominent examples of gemstones coveted for their velvety appearance are the legendary Kashmir sapphires.
