Gemologist's Comments on Clarity:
Due to their natural growth conditions and recovery methods, sapphires from Burma (Myanmar) commonly have features such as growth tubes, fingerprint inclusions, rutile silk clouds, and other microscopic inclusions that may affect the transmission of light to a certain extent. For this reason, despite being fully transparent, Burmese sapphires may not show luster & scintillation as prominently as sapphires from other localities.

The features seen in the stone's pavilion are naturally occurring rough, unpolished surface areas. When cutting & polishing sapphires, it's a common practice to intentionally keep certain portions of the stone in the natural, rough, unpolished form, particularly in the pavilion/bottom of the stone. This is done to preserve the carat weight and maintain the stone's overall shape/symmetry. Such minor external features are commonly seen in most natural & unheated/untreated sapphires, especially ones from Burma. Since they are located in the pavilion, they don't affect the stone's clarity, face-up appearance, or luster.
